How to train your aim with clicking targets

Aim combines reaction, hand-eye coordination and precise movement. This trainer places targets one at a time in random spots; each hit brings the next one immediately. It works with a mouse, a trackpad, a touchscreen or a pen.

  1. Press Start to open the target area.
  2. Hit the first target to start the clock.
  3. Hit each new target as quickly and accurately as you can. Clicking empty space counts as a miss.
  4. After 30 targets, read your average time per target, accuracy and fastest hit.
  5. Retake a few times and compare with your saved best.

How the aim trainer measures you

Time for each target runs from the moment it appears to the moment you hit it, using the browser's high-resolution event timestamps. Targets appear at least a short distance from the previous one, so every hit needs a real movement. Accuracy is hits divided by all clicks in the area.

What's a good aim trainer score?

With a mouse on a computer, these are typical averages per target. Touchscreens and trackpads are usually slower.

Average per targetRating
Under 400 msExcellent
400–500 msFast
500–650 msTypical
Over 650 msKeep practicing

Useful tips and limitations

  • Move first, then click: a smooth movement followed by a decisive click beats a fast but shaky motion.
  • Use the same mouse sensitivity each time so your scores are comparable.
  • Sit so your forearm can move freely; aiming from the wrist alone tires quickly.

Common questions

What counts as a miss?

Any click or tap inside the target area that does not land on the target. Misses lower your accuracy but do not stop the round.

Will a gaming mouse improve my score?

A responsive mouse and a high refresh rate screen can lower your time a little. Practice and a comfortable sensitivity usually matter more.

Does the aim trainer work with a trackpad or a touchscreen?

Yes. Any pointer works: mouse, trackpad, finger or pen. Compare scores made with the same device.
